Qualifications:
About me professionally:
I received my Masters Degree from San Francisco State University in Marriage and Famiy Therapy and Rehabilitation Counseling and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2000.
My specialties also include drug and alcohol recovery studies (UC Berkeley Extension 1993) and psychoanalytic psychotherapy (Center for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy 2004-6). In 1997, I founded Our Family Coalition, a non-profit organization serving the needs of non-traditional families. Since then, I have developed a private practice that is inclusive of many kinds of people from many walks of life.
About me personally:
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I came to the San Francisco Bay Area with a lot of hope, but eventually became aware that I seemed to lack an inner road map that others seemed to have. After several painful attempts to create the life I wanted all by myself, I decided to try therapy. I was surprised when it actually worked. Since then, I have raised a family and am now practicing from my offices in San Francisco and Oakland. This October, I will be traveling in Himalayas, studying psychotherapy and philosophy.
I have found that like me, many who start therapy are skeptical that lasting positive change can come from seeing a therapist. Yet change is possible, if you are willing to work for it.
